Hi, I'm Alice!
I spent the last 14 years of my life training to become a GP, only to find that my real passion is making art! I've always created artwork as a hobby, but I started taking things a bit more seriously early in 2026 when I bought a second-hand etching press. I haven't looked back since, and I now love spending my days making beautiful prints.
My work primarily explores Yorkshire landscapes and the animals living within them. I have been a keen bird watcher for my whole life, and this has definitely shown through in my art practice. I like to spend my weekends walking in the Yorkshire countryside with my husband, who doesn't mind too much when I stop every two minutes to try and find an interesting bird that flew into a nearby bush. Sometimes I think he might even be interested, and I am definitely converting him into a fellow bird enthusiast!
My favourite printmaking technique is reduction linocut. I love the depth of colour I can achieve and I'm a sucker for the challenge and jeopardy that comes with knowing you could ruin your print at any moment if it doesn't line up properly! I also frequently experiment with solar plate etching, which I use to make architectural prints of the beautiful buildings in Leeds. I also offer commissions, ranging from prints to oil paintings and portraiture.
When I am not doing art-related things, I am a keen badminton player and also play underwater hockey!
